PROPS

As a Visual Development Artist, one of my duties is to design props to be built in 3d by Polygon, our overseas partners on the "Stillwater" series. In addition to the design, I do all the graphics, texture and color call-outs, supplying reference materials and showing the characters for scale.

Here are some "Stillwater" updates as of May 2023 (posted with permission from Cary Silver, Producer, Gaumont):

A tent, in various stages of being built--with scale, color call-outs and texture reference.

Textures I designed, which were applied by the overseas studio to the sleeping bags inside the tent.

Here, I designed textures for an existing notebook, to create a diary cover and a poem for one of the main characters. Below is the comp of the redesign.

Here I took an existing cg model of a booklet, and designed a new cover and all new interior pages, turning it into a bird guide book.

Here are a few of the interior pages--these are textures the overseas studio would apply onto the cg model.

I redesigned a couple book covers for the new season--this is one of my favorite ones.

Some driftwood I designed for a beach episode.

Seashells I designed--with color call-outs and texture reference.

Repurposed an existing cg model into a container of glitter:

A favorite prop--a child's hand-made birthday card, with glitter decoration.

Texture I designed, which was applied by the overseas studio onto the cg model.

As a Visual Development Artist this season, besides CG props, I also handled some 2D props and FX.

In order to help the 2d overseas studio in France, I supplied a detailed views of a rocketship:

Some fun balloon animals for a party scene!

Every episode tells a story in a different culture--here's an interesting armoire, and a fancy folded invitation.

Being a musician myself, I love anything to do with musical instruments!

Here are earlier cg prop designs from "Stillwater's" premiere season:

Child's drawings I designed--a treehouse in-progress. These textures were applied by the overseas studio onto the cg model of a sheet of paper on a clipboard.
